Erin Rogers has been named the CEO and general manager of Omnitrans by the agency’s board of directors.
Rogers has served in an interim capacity since last November, and first joined the agency in 2017 as deputy general manager. She has nearly three decades of experience in the transit industry, including 16 years at the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). Rogers held the position of assistant general manager at OCTA for 10 years and was responsible for oversight and management of all fixed route bus and paratransit operations.
Her approach to agency administration focuses on data-driven decision making and innovation to position the agency for an environmentally and financial sustainable future.
“At Omnitrans, we will always put safety and people first,” said Rogers. “As our region grows and evolves, we will continue to explore ways to meet the changing transportation needs of the communities we serve.”
In addition to her extensive experience in public transit, Rogers also brings private sector industry knowledge to her role, having served as regional vice president for MV Transportation, Inc. There she was responsible for the oversight of operating contracts with clients such as Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, North County Transit District in Oceanside, Calif., and Omnitrans.
Rogers is a native of Syracuse, N.Y. She graduated from State University of New York, Geneseo, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, and started her career with DAVE Transportation Services, Inc., in Boston, Mass., as a paratransit manager.
Rogers is a member of the California Transit Association Executive Committee and has participated in Leadership APTA (American Public Transportation Association) and its Eno Executive Seminar. She also has been active in industry forums such as Women’s Transportation Seminar.
