The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) has named Joseph Stainsby as Chief Development Officer for OmniRide.
OmniRide has provided mobility services for Northern Virginia for more than three decades. As the Chief Development Officer, Stainsby will execute the vision and direction of the Board of Commissioners and implement the Strategic Plan to develop and grow new and/or improved transportation solutions for the region.
“I am pleased that Mr. Stainsby has accepted the offer of Chief Development Officer for the organization,” said OmniRide Executive Director Bob Schneider. “He is a skilled professional with experience establishing, adapting, and continually examining strategic plans, policies, regulations, resources, and performance of an organization. He also possesses a proven track record of developing and growing alternative transportation programs.”
Schneider continued, “I am confident that with Mr. Stainsby’s knowledge and experience, as well as his already-proven commitment to the organization, he will help OmniRide continue to provide quality mobility services in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. region.
Stainsby has served as the program manager for Vanpool Alliance since its inception in 2013. Under his leadership, Vanpool Alliance went from an initial concept to the 5th largest such program in United States with almost 700 enrolled vans generating nearly $7 million in federal earnings annually for Northern Virginia.
Stainsby said, “I am thankful for the opportunity and excited to get to work in a broader capacity for the people of Prince William County, and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park to enhance their access to and quality of mobility available to them.”
Prior to OmniRide Stainsby worked in the private sector for seven years as the Washington, D.C. Area Manager for VPSI/vRide, the nation’s largest vanpool provider at the time. He has a history of working with stakeholders at all levels of government, serving as a subject-matter expert in the transportation demand management community, and working with the private sector to achieve results and address emerging transportation needs. Stainsby is also a prior recipient of the Association of Commuter Transportation Top 40 under 40 Award.
