Transdev has marked its 50-year anniversary of its partnership with the city of Phoenix to provide safe, reliable and efficient service to the community.

Transdev says this is one of the country’s longest-running partnerships of the public and private sectors focused on bus operations, service quality and maintenance.

“We are incredibly grateful to work with such a supportive and innovative client,” said Phoenix General Manager Dave Todd. “We have a very collaborative and open relationship that is built on mutual respect, years of trust and a shared goal of providing the very best service to the riding public. For that, we are fortunate.”

Todd continued to say that it’s his employees who provide the differentiating factor. He credits the contract’s success to his team’s strong health and safety culture, the service ethic and longevity of many employees, and the team’s and client’s openness to new technology and innovation.

“I am incredibly proud of our employees,” Todd said. “Our staff shows such dedication, commitment and flexibility every day. This had been especially true through 2020, as they had to address and adjust to all the challenges brought forth by the pandemic.”

“Transdev is also proud that the City of Phoenix has continued to show its confidence in our capabilities by awarding us another five-year contract, with an optional two years,” said Transdev U.S. CEO, Laura Hendricks. “We are excited to continue this longstanding relationship, to innovate and grow, and to help the agency and the City achieve their vision for mobility.”
