Transpo names a director and two supervisors to management team
The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (Transpo) has promoted two employees and hired a new staff member to serve in various leadership positions in marketing and operations.
Mark Albin has joined the executive team as director of marketing. Albin will be responsible for marketing, communication, customer service and outreach initiatives.
Albin previously worked for Transpo in 2016-2017 as an administrative coordinator. Since that time, Albin received his degree at Indiana University South Bend and gained valuable marketing and communication experience while working for Saint Mary’s College and through the development and launch of Art 4, a local non-profit organization.
“We’re excited to have Mark rejoin the Transpo Team,” said Transpo General Manager and CEO Amy Hill. “This is a critical time for public transportation as we work to rebuild ridership following the COVID-19 pandemic and Mark will play a key role in restarting the momentum Transpo had heading into March 2020.”
In addition to hiring a director of marketing, Transpo promoted two employees to the roles of operations manager – fixed route, and operations manager – paratransit in recent months.
Manny Vila joined Transpo as a part-time fixed route operator in October 2012, moving to fulltime in February 2015. Vila was promoted to operations supervisor in July 2019 and to operations manager – fixed route in July 2020. Vila brings strong organizational experience to his new role.
Todd Modos joined Transpo as a paratransit operator in January 2019 and was promoted to operations manager – paratransit in February 2020 and brings more than 14 years of leadership, management and customer service experience to the position.
The operations managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and service delivery of Transpo’s fixed route and paratransit services.
“As we continue to focus on workforce development and internal career paths, it’s exciting to see the most qualified candidates for a position come from within the organization,” said Hill.
