STAR Transit has promoted Kim Goggans Britton to deputy executive director, where she will be responsible for the marketing department’s day-to-day operations.
She also oversees STAR Transit’s Mobility Management Department, Asset Management Department, Transportation Department and call center, as well as serves as project manager for special assignments.
“Kim’s leadership and communication skills are unparalleled,” said Tommy Henricks, STAR Transit executive director. “Our employees respect and trust her, and the communities which we serve look to her for creative ways to promote public transit. Kim facilitates collaboration and builds partnerships.”
Prior to joining STAR Transit in 2014, she was an account executive with The Marketing Arm, working with the AT&T Northeast and Southeast local markets where she participated in the development of promotional activation plans for several of their sports properties. Before holding this position, she was the director of marketing for US Youth Soccer. She also had a 10-year stint in radio, working for a part of that time with the late Kidd Kraddick as coordinator of his nonprofit organization, Kidd’s Kids.
Most recently, Britton served as the agency’s vice president, planning and development. She was given the Outstanding Leadership Award for 2020. Currently, she is past chair of the Terrell Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, having served as chair in 2020. She and her husband Shay have a daughter Jocelyn, who is seven.
