IndyGo launches vendor development pilot program
A new vendor development pilot program is being launched by IndyGo for small businesses interested in improving their proposal writing skills.
For businesses interested in working with IndyGo, this three-month pilot program allows firms to meet with members of the procurement team and learn how to make their business proposals stand out.
IndyGo maintains an extensive list of contractors and consultants based on commodities and services provided. Because of the high number of firms listed on the bidders’ list, IndyGo says it wanted to give the business community resources and tools to help create a robust and thorough business proposal.
“We’re incredibly thrilled to see so many businesses interested in providing services to IndyGo,” said Chelci Hunter, senior supplier diversity officer. “Not many small businesses have access to the resources or tools to help boost their proposal writing skills. We want this program to help businesses improve their proposals and increase their chances of doing business with us and other business entities.”
A committee of five members will review applications submitted for the program. The committee will review applications based on their response to essay questions and references.
“The committee is eager to see businesses submit applications to further enhance their proposal writing skills,” said Kevin McDuffie, supplier diversity specialist. “The committee encompasses a wide range of expertise such as procurement, legal and communications. Being a fairly new employee alongside others who have worked with IndyGo for several years, brings a variety of unique perspectives.”
Vendors wanting to apply for the program can do so on IndyGo’s website. Five applicants will be selected for this pilot program. Applications are due no later than Aug. 8, at 5:00 p.m.
