Joseph Mercurio has been named Omnitrans’s new director of finance.
As leader of the finance department, Mercurio will oversee agency and department budgets, operating and capital funding, audits, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and fare collection functions while managing the agency’s finance team.
“Joe’s accounting expertise, positive attitude and previous experience will be invaluable as we work to strategically increase service and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the agency,” said Omnitrans CEO/ General Manager Erin Rogers.
“I am excited for this next chapter in my career at Omnitrans. I look forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure continued financial security for the agency,” added Joseph Mercurio.
Mercurio began his career at Omnitrans as an accountant, advancing to the position of accounting manager in 2020.
A graduate of San Diego State University, he is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and has previously served as a government compliance supervisor and accountant for organizations including Californians for Drug Free Youth.
