Rosa Beckett named JTA vice president of engagement
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) named Rosa M. Beckett as Vice President of Engagement.
When she begins in November, Beckett will oversee JTA's Human Resources and Organizational Development, Marketing, Communications, Customer Engagement, Labor Relations, Training and Development, Investigations and Fare Revenue.
“Rosa Beckett is a talented professional who brings a decorated career of public and private sector senior leadership experience to the JTA,” said JTA Chief Executive Officer Nathaniel P. Ford Sr. “Rosa knows Jacksonville, and is the perfect person to enhance how we engage with the two most important aspects of our operations – our customers and employees.”
Beckett joins the JTA after serving as chief administrative officer at Fraport USA, Inc., in Pittsburg, Penn., where she led business operations, oversaw corporate accounting, legal and compliance, business intelligence, financial planning and forecasting functions.
Prior to joining the private sector, Beckett forged a successful 18-year career at the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA), where she served as chief administrative officer from 2012 – 2019, and held roles in marketing and administrative services. She’s led and executed strategic plans, marketing and communications initiatives, legal and compliance work, and corporate operational functions in the public and private sector.
"I am elated to have the opportunity to return to Northeast Florida and to join the JTA during a time of tremendous growth and opportunity, and as the authority pursues continued excellence in its role as a multimodal and regional public transportation provider,” said Beckett. “I have watched Mr. Ford’s dynamic leadership since he arrived in Jacksonville, and look forward to joining him and the hundreds of JTA team members that serve this community each day."
Beckett holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Human Resources Management from the University of North Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Florida.
Throughout her career, Beckett has served on multiple boards including the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Jacksonville, Baptist Health, the Children’s home Society of Northeast Florida, as well as president of the Commercial Real Estate Women Association Jacksonville Chapter. The American Business Women’s Association named her Woman of The Year.
