Keolis names Tellis Chandler vice president of safety for U.S. bus operations
Keolis has appointed Tellis Chandler to be the vice president of safety for its U.S. bus operations.
Chandler most recently served as chief safety officer for the LYNX bus system in Orlando, Fla. Chandler has a proven record of administering and improving comprehensive safety programs, making him an ideal candidate for the position with Keolis and its growing operations across the U.S.
Prior to LYNX, Chandler served as director of operations for Go Triangle in North Carolina’s research triangle. There, Chandler oversaw bus and paratransit operations, maintenance operations and safety and security. The hiring of Chandler adds to recent investments in the safety team with a growing roster of seasoned professionals across the organization—committed to ongoing improvements in safety performance.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tellis to the Keolis team,” said Aline Frantzen, president and CEO, Keolis Transit America. “His proven record in both operations and safety make him uniquely qualified to oversee strategic safety programs that will further minimize risk for both our employees and passengers. Tellis’ commitment to community engagement is a perfect complement to the Keolis core principle of partnering with the communities we serve.”
Chandler will assume the role of vice president of safety on Nov. 1. His duties will include continuing to transform the Keolis safety culture, driving further improvements in safety performance, overseeing training programs and administrating the Keolis safety management system. Additionally, Chandler will continue to build a dynamic safety team that evolves as Keolis continues to expand operations.
