SFMTA's newest ‘revenue’ service on wheels

March 1, 2022
A new mobile sales van will travel to underserved communities to make it easier to purchase transportation passes.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is introducing its first mobile sales van.

The van will first travel to San Francisco’s Bayview and Silver Terrace neighborhoods and will bring SFMTA services to underserved locations in San Francisco, so customers don’t have to travel downtown or the Civic Center area to purchase their necessary collateral.

Available Services will include:

  • Pre-loaded Clipper cards ($11 value for $10)
  • Monthly Lifeline passes (for the month of March 2022)
  • $5 Day Passes (valid on all Muni vehicles, except Cable Car)
  • Parking meter cards ($25/$20)
  • Pick-up/Drop-off parking and fare discount program applications
  • Parking/Transit Citation Payments (customers must present a ticket or letter listing the citation number)

Customers can pay with cash, credit/debit card or commuter check.

Schedule below as advertised:

  • March 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: East side of 3rd street South of Oakdale
  • March 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: East side of 3rd street South of Oakdale

As this is a new program, SFMTA says it invites the public for feedback to recommend other locations around the city including social landmarks such as libraries, community centers, etc.
