WSP has selected Christopher Body to be a vice president and senior business development director for mobility operations, WSP USA.
In his new role for the firm, Body will be involved in the development and pursuit of tolling, traffic management center, transit, rail and other programs in North America for WSP’s mobility operations business line. He will collaborate with other WSP business sectors, as well as with regional and national leadership, to position the firm as a preferred and trusted choice for transportation projects.
“Few can match the experience and sustained success that Chris has had throughout his career advancing toll collection technology and intelligent transportation systems,” said Patrick McGowan, WSP national mobility operations director. “This is an extremely important time for mobility operations across the U.S. and for WSP, and we are honored to be able to have someone of his skill and commitment join us to serve our clients and help them solve their challenges to create robust, efficient and innovative transportation systems.”
Body arrives at WSP after nearly 16 years with an international supplier of intelligent toll collection systems, most recently as its vice president of sales for the Northeast region. He previously served as its vice president of business development. His career extends more than 30 years and includes experience with sales and marketing for transportation management and data collection systems with two U.S.-based firms. He also served as a senior staff engineer, international liaison and the director of operations for the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS).
Body is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and the University of Baltimore with a master’s degree in business administration. He is also a 2018 graduate of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) Leadership Academy. He is a board member of the New York chapter of ITS, a member of the IBTTA meeting planning group and a board member for the Mileage Based User Fee Alliance.
