LIT welcomes Jess Segovia as administrative director
Jess Segovia has been selected by the Latinos In Transit (LIT) Board of Directors to serve as the organization’s first administrative director.
Segovia will provide administrative support services as directed by the LIT Board, including but not limited to:
- Communication with the board.
- Communication with members and sponsors.
- Help manage, plan and coordinate meetings and events.
- Assist with records management.
- Provide financial oversight.
“It is an honor to join Latinos In Transit as the administrative director, and as LIT's first official employee. One of the most important efforts in our industry is to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion exist at all levels, and LIT is at the forefront of these efforts,” Segovia said. “I am excited to bring my decades of public transit knowledge to Latinos In Transit, and I look forward to working hand in hand with the board of directors to achieve LIT's mission, vision and goals.”
Segovia is not only the first administrative director but also the first employee of the LIT organization. He will start by working part time with the possibility of expanding his time commitment at a later date. His duties begin immediately.
Outside of LIT, Segovia owns and operates ADA Guru, a training and consulting company specializing in ADA Compliance in public transit. He has spent the last two decades creating innovative programs and services for a variety of public and private agencies throughout the United States. He says his core professional values of safety, communication and innovation have helped ensure the successful delivery of high quality, accessible transportation services.
He has a Masters of Arts in Organizational Management from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif., and a Bachelors of Arts in Speech Communication/Organizational Management from California State University in Fullerton, Calif.
