VIA increases hiring incentives for newly-hired operators and mechanics
VIA Metropolitan Transit (VIA) has increased hiring incentives for new drivers and fleet maintenance personnel.
VIA is currently hiring bus operators, VIAtrans paratransit van operators, mechanics and CDL shop attendants. Bus and VIAtrans paratransit van operators can receive up to $4,000. Mechanics and CDL shop Aatendants can receive up to $6,000.
Applications are being accepted online now. Starting hourly pay for new bus operators is $20.25. Paratransit van operator starting pay is $16.64. No experience is necessary. Paid training is provided with classes starting every two weeks.
The mechanics starting hourly pay is $22.29. Mechanic applicants should have two years of full-time verifiable work experience as a mechanic. CDL shop attendants starting hourly pay is $16.01, and must have experience with cleaning vehicles, equipment and/or facilities.
