RTC of Southern Nevada to implement several improvements starting July 1
The RTC is set to implement several improvements starting July 1, 2023, designed to enhance the transit riders’ experience: A service change with adjusted bus schedules and updated routes, a new private contractor managing transit service and a new single-ride fare in the rideRTC mobile app.
“We know that major roadway construction projects and increased transit ridership has created service delays that directly impact our passengers,” said RTC Deputy CEO Francis Julien. “We continue to work closely with our new contractor to update schedules to improve timeliness and customer experience. Our ultimate goal is to ensure our passengers can get where they need to go in a timely and efficient manner.”
Schedule updates will occur on 23 routes. Service changes will also include the launch of a new feature in the rideRTC app called Tap & GO, which allows customers to pay for single-ride fares directly in the app. Tap & GO provides greater flexibility and options for passengers, and it eliminates paper passes and the need for exact change. This feature is ideal for the individual who may be unsure of their travel plans and would prefer to pay for a single trip. Tap & GO is currently available on the rideRTC app, which can be downloaded in the App Store or Google Play.
July 1 will also initiate the RTC’s newest contract with Transdev for its 39 transit routes.
