The modern zoning code will allow residents to have a better chance of finding housing closer to jobs and activities they want to access via various modes of transportation.
The Boise City Council in Idaho voted to adopt the modern zoning code, with some minor modifications, marking an important step in improving convenient transit options to move around the city of Boise, Idaho. The modern zoning code will allow residents to have a better chance of finding housing closer to jobs and activities they want to access via various modes of transportation, including bike, foot, bus, shared ride, electric scooter or car.
“I am most excited by the opportunity the modern zoning code promises to develop transit corridors that work. Building more density along the corridors we serve – and offering a guide for how to build the transit infrastructure needed to serve it well – will improve Valley Regional Transit’s (VRT) ability to offer good, attractive and easy-to-use bus services. I look forward to collaborating with the city on the details that will make this work,” Elaine Clegg, VRT CEO said in a statement.
