Lindy Johnson named CCTA's new director of external affairs
Lindy Johnson joined the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) as director of external affairs Oct. 2.
“The director of external affairs serves a vital role at CCTA,” said CCTA Chair Federal Glover. “Lindy’s combined experience and skills—attained working in various Contra Costa County agencies—are perfect for what CCTA needs. She brings to CCTA in-depth policy knowledge, high-level communication skills, experience with diverse stakeholders and organizational leadership.”
Before her appointment at CCTA, Johnson was vice president at the East Bay Leadership Council and Contra Costa Economic Partnership, where she managed a portfolio of projects and programs, including leading the organization’s policy research and advocacy strategy. She managed a regional transportation task force dedicated to advancing transportation projects and initiatives.
Prior to her position at the East Bay Leadership Council and Contra Costa Economic Partnership, Johnson was a community affairs representative at Central San, leading communication efforts and building public awareness about the district’s initiatives. Johnson also worked for Contra Costa Supervisor Karen Mitchoff as a district representative. She was the lead policy analyst for important issues, including health, public safety, education and sustainability.
Johnson was also a district representative for former U.S. Sen. Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA), where she organized community events and honed her understanding of the complexities of the state budget.
