Cincinnati Metro CEO and General Manager Darryl Haley joined Mass Transit for an Insider Interview to discuss the steps the agency is taking to improve its infrastructure for its future bus rapid transit to Hamilton Avenue and Reading Road. Haley also provides an update on the agency's transition to a full zero-emissions fleet, as well as efforts to maintain safety on its system.

By the numbers
- 117 percent ridership increase as of October 2024 compared to pre-COVID-19 pandemic.
- 30 percent of riders who responded to a customer survey say they’ve been riding Cincinnati Metro for less than two years.
- More than $300 million awarded to more than 100 projects since 2020 through the Issue 7 levy to fix roads, bridges and sidewalks within 0.75 miles of the Cincinnati Metro bus network in Hamilton County.
- 200 bus shelters to be added by the agency.
- 400 benches to be installed by the agency.
- 3 transit centers in development in addition to one already installed, including at Uptown, Walnut Hills and North College Hill.
- 20 percent of trips from Cincinnati Metro’s MetroNow! on-demand service is taken to a bus stop.
