The agency plans to increase the number of officers and improve visibility and response times after a survey revealed riders want to see a larger security presence on the transit system.
BART's Safe and Clean plan is showing a positive effect according to a recent survey conducted at the BART Civic Center/UN Plaza Station.
CCRTA began its campaign to work to improve human trafficking awareness in the public transit space.
In her video message, FTA Administrator Nuria Fernandez stressed how seriously FTA regards assaults on the nation’s transit workforce and asks transit agencies, community leaders, transit riders and anyone interested in transit to submit comments on the proposed directive.

The Passenger Code of Conduct identifies prohibited behaviors for anyone using Metra facilities or trains and allows for the suspension of riding privileges and/or confiscation of the fare media of passengers; the agency is also making permanent a COVID policy that allowed bikes on all trains.
Since launching the Meeting the Moment Action Plan in August 2022, all key performance indicators for bus and rail service have shown measurable improvement in customer satisfaction.
