MBTA, MassDOT release results of Silver Line Extension Alternatives Analysis; Updates from Sound Transit, CTDOT, government of Canada

The analysis recommends extending Silver Line 3 service from its current terminus in Chelsea, Mass., to Sullivan Square Station on the Orange Line.
Among the steps the agency is proposing are increased storage capacity for trains, which allows for more frequent service during peak hours, and alternative bus service between Snohomish County and Seattle, Wash., including the introduction of a new temporary ST Express route.

The new routes throughout Stamford and central Connecticut are in direct response to input from customers, employees, students and stakeholders.

The investment will allow the city of Sault Ste. Marie to receive electric buses, a charging station, diesel buses, paratransit buses and passenger vans.
The route is part of the planned Front Range Passenger Rail project that would connect major population centers along the Colorado Front Range.

Once the light-rail extension is complete, riders will be able to board at the Eastridge Transit Center and connect directly with BART at the Milpitas Station.
