BCT's Project Homeless Connect works to help those experiencing homelessness and improve safety and security at bus stops and shelters.
Overall transit crime is down six percent year to date, decreased 16 percent compared to September 2022 and violent crime is down six percent compared to April 2023.
Since the launch of the programs in 2022, the initiatives have worked to strengthen the agency’s work to prevent and address harassment across Muni vehicles, stops and stations.

The 2024 award winners were rewarded in categories based on bus ridership and submissions are evaluated on criteria including effectiveness, benefit, innovation and transferability.
The agency saw a 13 percent increase in ridership in March 2024 from March 2023, as well as reported crime declined 7.7 percent from the first quarter of 2023 to the first quarter of 2024.
JTA is the second Florida organization to receive the certification, which recognizes organizations that are proactive in supporting communities during major storms.
