The deadline for National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association (NRC) is Aug. 30, 2019. The rail association has three tiers of awards work at least $21,000 in tuition assistance to qualifying candidates available.
Children or grandchildren of employees of NRC member companies qualify for the awards, which will consist of a first place award of $12,000, second place award of $6,000 each and third place award of $3,000 each. While there will be a single first place award winner, the NRC Scholarship Committee has the authority to award additional second and third place prizes if it sees fit.
In addition to being a child or grandchild of an NRC member company, applicants must be enrolled at the time of application as a full-time college student at an accredited two-year college offering an associate's degree or an accredited four-year college or university offering a bachelor's degree, or as a recently graduated high school senior who is enrolled to start college this fall.
Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the student at the beginning of the next term of study. Students must be in attendance for a full year following receipt of the award.
