Midwest Rail Conference

The MRC will kick off on Tuesday, Aug. 15, with a morning golf outing and an opening reception in the evening featuring The Lawmen band, who are the public relations ambassadors for Norfolk Southern Railroad. 

The technical session program on Wednesday, Aug. 16, features presentations, panel discussions, and breakout sessions on a variety of topics, including: 

• The future of freight rail in the Midwest
• Urban rail development
• High(er) speed passenger rail  
• Grade crossing issues
• Short line railroad operations. 

The final conference day includes field visits to the Cargill rail facilities in Decatur, a train ride on the Amtrak Wolverine Service, and a visit to the Little River Railroad.
