Significant progress is being made on rail installation for Metrolinx’s Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit (LRT) project.
Along with the most recent images from the project comes an interesting statistic on the amount of rail that has been placed along the Toronto line.
Crews report 93 percent of all rail has been installed on the route. In the image below, some of it is being fine-tuned at Chaplin Station.
As well, a new progress image from Avenue Station points out that unique concrete pours require unique solutions. In this case, the Avenue team used a cylindrical-shaped formwork to pour the final small sections of tunnel at the end of the station box.
And at Leaside, waterproofing is being applied on top of the roof at the station, marking the completion of the station box structure. Following this, crews will backfill overtop and restore the roadway.
