MDOT MTA Light RailLink service from Falls Road to North Avenue to resume on August 7
The Light RailLink track in the Cold Spring Lane area will resume regular service after crews stablized eroded sections of the track, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA)
Regular service will resume the morning of August 7 between Falls Road and North Avenue stops. The maintenance work was completed a week ahead of schedule.
"Ensuring our Light RailLink system is safe for our riders is our top priority. We thank our customers for their patience during the construction," said MDOT MTA Administrator Kevin Quinn.
MDOT MTA completed several improvements of the Light RailLink system near Cold Spring Lane during the recent closure. Pedestrian walkways, which allow access to the northbound and southbound tracks, were replaced at the Falls Road, Mount Washington and Woodberry stops. Some track replacement was also performed near the Woodberry stop.
Meanwhile, Baltimore City Department of Public Works repairs to the July 8 water main break near Pratt and Howard streets continue to impact Light RailLink service in Baltimore’s Central Business District. Until the water main break is repaired, Light RailLink service is suspended between the Camden and North Avenue stops. A free bus bridge will continue to transport riders to each impacted stop.
