    Maryland enacts Holocaust Train Bill

    Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) signed legislation on Thursday of last week requiring the French rail company SNCF to disclose its role in transporting tens of thousands of victims to Nazi death camps during World War II.

    Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) signed legislation on Thursday of last week requiring the French rail company SNCF to disclose its role in transporting tens of thousands of victims to Nazi death camps during World War II. Through this legislation, Maryland has become the first state in the nation to require such disclosure.

    "We hope this legislation can become a national model sooner rather than later, so that the Holocaust survivors who are still with us can know that the atrocities inflicted upon their families and their people will remain in our minds, never to be forgotten, and never to be repeated," said O'Malley.
