IEM to Develop WISE Wheel Measurement System Supersite for Norfolk Southern Railway

At the Mill Creek, Pa. site, IEM’s system will detect, measure, evaluate, and flag rail wheel sets as they move through the site at speeds up to 60 miles per hour.
International Electronic Machines Corporation (IEM) will install an instrument tie-box version of its railroad wheel measurement system at a Supersite on track owned by Norfolk Southern Railroad. At the Mill Creek, Pa. site, IEM’s system will detect, measure, evaluate, and flag rail wheel sets as they move through the site at speeds up to 60 miles per hour. The Mill Creek Supersite, when completely operational, will include wheel condition monitoring and brake shoe measurement systems.
