INIT Presents its Role in Making Transit More Attractive, Faster and More Efficient

Sept. 23, 2012
INIT presents solutions to increase efficiency and service quality.

The Future of Mobility — This is the motto of this year’s InnoTrans, the international Trade Fair for Transport Technology held at the Messe Berlin exhibition center from September 18 to 21. INIT is committed to this motto as well and will be represented with a 100 m² booth in the Public Transport section hall 2.1, booth 244. Providing innovative mobility concepts to give future-oriented transit agencies a technological advantage — this is INIT’s role in making public transit more attractive, faster, and more efficient.

With Integration to Efficiency

Transit agencies can offer their passengers a totally new service quality with the modern IT solutions for public transit. For instance, passengers receive real-time information throughout their travel. INIT’s integrated approach offers highest economic efficiency and numerous functional advantages.

As a result of the 100 percent takeover of id systeme GmbH the personnel and vehicle planning system PERDIS will now be fully integrated into the INIT MOBILE product family. Now INIT products cover the entire process from scheduling, personnel and vehicle dispatch, and operations control to payroll. In fact, INIT is the sole manufacturer to offer a closed loop for the planning, controlling, and optimization of public transit. The logged operational data is automatically transferred to the planning module and used for optimization.

Update Passenger Information

Like in recent years INIT puts emphasis on real-time passenger information. Visitors of the INIT booth can catch up on the innovative possibilities. This includes a passenger information app for the iPhone, internet-based passenger information displays in public spaces, and onboard real-time information on transfer possibilities. But INIT is also expanding their conventional stop information product range and will show for the first time the new full matrix LED display PIDmatrix at the InnoTrans.

These Tools Make it Easy

Efficiency increase is yet another focus with a first-time presentation of INIT’s solutions for automated GIS data collection MOBILEsurvey and the monitoring of the technical vehicle status MOBILEvhm. MOBILEvhm which is short for vehicle health monitoring will be a highlight of the exhibit. This tool logs all requested technical vehicle data which are then transmitted clearly structured and in real-time to the drivers, dispatchers, and the shop personnel. Thus actions that have to be taken are recognized earlier and can be commenced earlier allowing even for preventive maintenance. As a result, the vehicle fleet is not only more economic but also more environmental friendly.

Another essential assisting tool for transit agencies is the automatic route data acquisition MOBILEsurvey. Not only the quality of stop positions or route data is improved, but also the often complex initial data compilation of entire routes, locations or route pattern is supported by MOBILEsurvey.
