Invensys Rail will serve as a subcontractor to Five Star Electric Corp. in a $167 million project that will replace two NYCT rail interlockings located at 71st –Continental Avenue and Van Wyck Boulevard on the Queens line.
Invensys’ portion of the project includes the interlocking control systems, associated wayside signal work and a redundant PLC Code System. Upon completion, the new interlocking control systems will be CBTC ready.
Invensys will engineer and manufacture equipment for four signal rooms with controls, racks and relay equipment plus wayside signals and enclosures. In addition, the company will provide field testing, commissioning and training support for the equipment and systems it supplies. Invensys’ portion of the $167 million project will total $41.9 million.
