Parsons announced the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) has selected the Capital Rail Constructors joint venture for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project – Phase II: Package A.

Parsons is serving as the lead designer for the nearly $1.2 billion project, which will extend the Metrorail system from Wiehle Avenue, in Fairfax County, Virginia, another 11.4 miles northwest, through Washington Dulles International Airport, to a terminus in eastern Loudoun County. The project includes the design and construction of all rail line, stations, and systems for this section.

“Parsons is honored to have been chosen to participate in this significant project,” said Todd Wager, Parsons Group president. “We have a long, successful history of delivering projects for MWAA, and I’m confident that this project will add to our record of success.”

This project is the largest of three design-build packages that will complete Phase II. When complete, it will offer convenient transportation to and from Washington Dulles International Airport and the surrounding area, as well as offer a cleaner transportation option that can improve air quality for the region.
