Germany: Focus at InnoTrans 2014: Travel Catering & Comfort Services Now with Its Own Theme Route

Aug. 6, 2013
At InnoTrans 2014 catering service providers and manufacturers of catering systems and comfort products will be exhibiting products and services that are tailored to the rail industry’s needs.

When companies compete for passengers the feelgood factor is often what makes that all-important difference, and it is here that offering rail catering services and on-board comfort provides the key to success.

At InnoTrans 2014 catering service providers and manufacturers of catering systems and comfort products will be exhibiting products and services that are tailored to the rail industry’s needs. From Sept. 23-26, 2014 in Berlin these international exhibitors will be in an even greater focus of trade visitors because of the new Travel Catering & Comfort Services theme route.

Travel Catering & Comfort Services is a topic that is attracting increasing interest at InnoTrans. The world’s leading trade fair for transport technology offers companies in this field the best possible environment for intensifying their business activities on the rail market. In particular, they can benefit from direct contact with their main target audiences, international transport companies and rail vehicle manufacturers. Among those who have already announced their participation in InnoTrans 2014 are Kelox, Kiesel and Iacobucci, all specialists in on-board galley equipment.

Taking part for the second time is LSG Sky Chefs, a global company that is one of the largest providers of catering and on-board services. Also taking part in the next InnoTrans is Multi Rail, a company from Italy and a manufacturer of turnkey solutions for dining cars, bars and galley equipment. Commenting on the company’s participation in InnoTrans 2014, Alice Doro, marketing manager of Multi Rail, said: “Taking part in such an important event guarantees that our quality products will be highly visible to the international market and our customers.“

According to the latest survey by the International Rail Catering Group (IRCG), on-board catering is in high demand. Commenting in the July edition of the trade magazine Railway Gazette International, IRCG president Roger Williams said: “Of the 27 rail firms we polled, 90 per cent saw high growth prospects for travel catering over the next five years.“ According to Williams, the annual turnover of the European rail catering market is around one billion euros.
