CA: BART Sees Little Change in Newest Proposal from Unions

BART spokesman Rick Rice said, "This is not a game-changing proposal. We do not see that it represents significant movement. They went from 5 percent per year wage increases with a pension swap to 4.5 percent per year increases with a pension swap which is still 17 percent over three years.
"The district is firm on negotiating a four-year contract and if you extrapolate this new proposal over that period this is still a 21.5 percent increase. We will review it carefully and be back at the table tomorrow.
"The board has given us our authority and our current offer with a 10 percent pay increase over four years is at the end of the runway."
