RailComm has partnered with GE Transportation Systems to provide a complete yard automation system for Auckland Transport’s Wiri Depot in Auckland, New Zealand. RailComm is responsible for providing control and communication to GE installed Hydra-Switch 3000LP switch machines.
Control for the new installation is being provided via the Domain Operations Controller (DOC) system – RailComm’s proprietary yard control application. Additionally, users can control yard equipment by using RailComm installed local control panels, and can request routes using DTMF technology.
Switch position can be viewed through the DOC system, field control panels or switch position indicators located at the switch points. RailComm has also installed Route Proceed Indicators throughout the yard which illuminate to show the path in which trains are routed.
Communication to the switch machines is being achieved by using a RailComm 2.4 GHz spread spectrum RADiANTTM network.
