After a seven week closure of the Streetcar’s Central Loop (CL), service will return to the eastside beginning Aug. 17. Streetcar service was interrupted to accommodate Multnomah County’s Broadway Bridge painting project which began on June 26, 2015 and is expected to continue for several months. The closure allowed the County’s contractor to erect scaffolding which will allow the streetcar to operate while the bridge is painted.
Eastside streetcar service will run to SE Mill Street only, with no service to OMSI until August 30th. Crews are currently repairing the platforms and track at OMSI before streetcars begin operating on the Tilikum Crossing beginning Aug. 30. Sept. 12 marks the opening of Tilikum to the public and the introduction of the A and B Loop Streetcars.
