Teknoware Oy has been selected by Bombardier Transportation UK Limited to supply the interior lighting system for the new Crossrail trains. The new fleet will have 585 train cars that will serve the route that runs through London, from Reading and Heathrow in the west, through new twin-bore 21 km tunnels below central London to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.
The interior lighting system is based on LED technology and will be controlled by an Intelligent Lighting Controller (ILC).
Transport for London (TfL) awarded the contract to Bombardier Transportation UK Limited for Crossrail’s rolling stock and depot facilities in February 2014. The contract between TfL and Bombardier covers the supply, delivery and maintenance of 65 new trains.
