Systra announced that Bonnie Shepherd has joined the company as vice president of corporate strategy and development. In this capacity, Shepherd will be responsible for leading Systra North America’s annual strategic planning process, driving goal achievement, developing acquisition strategies and establishing viable and sustainable market share in Canada.
Shepherd is a long-time rail and public transit professional who has proven capabilities in developing successful bid strategies, fostering teaming opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and managing marketing and proposal teams.
“Bonnie is a driven, dedicated, and results-focused leader in the rail and transit industry,” said William Crosbie, regional director of Systra North America. “We’re excited to have her join our team of rail industry leaders, and add both her commercial experience and strategic focus to Systra’s continuing growth.”
Shepherd joins Systra from Hatch Mott McDonald where she served as vice president of marketing and business development for more than a decade. Prior to Hatch Mott McDonald, Shepherd held numerous diverse roles including: sales account executive for Spear Technologies, director of client services at Omni Facilities Services, and manager of business development at Hallcon/Hallmark Corp.
Shepherd is an active member of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and is a past chair and current board member of the American Public Transportation Foundation. She is also an active member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) as well as several transportation industry associations.
