SFRTA Implements No Smoking Policy at Stations
Sept. 2, 2015
On Oct. 1, the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) will begin implementing a strict “No Smoking Policy” at Tri-Rail stations. As of that date, smoking will no longer be permitted on platforms and pedestrian overpasses except at designated locations. Smoking, including vapor-creating devices and tobacco products, is already prohibited on all Tri-Rail trains.
Signs and receptacles will enable passengers to locate the designated smoking location at each station. The smoking location at the Miami Airport Station will be identified at a future date. Violation of the “No Smoking Policy” may result in denial of access to train service and the issuance of a trespass notice.
