Jan. 4, 2016
Related To: Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)
Starting Jan. 3, the TTC will be making significant changes to the 501 Queen streetcar route to make it more reliable and more frequent. Additional time will be added to the schedules at all times of the week in order to operate a more reliable service. Service will be added at busy off peak times to reduce crowding, and service over the entire route, from Neville Park to Long Branch, will operate every 10 minutes-or-better, all day, every day
Route split
- From 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. the route will be temporarily split into two sections, operating between Long Branch Loop and Humber Loop, and between Neville Park and Humber Loop. Customers will transfer between the two routes at Humber Loop.
- From 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. some trips will be scheduled to operate through from Neville Park to Long Branch, while some trips turn back at Humber Loop.
- From 2 a.m. to 5 a.m.: The 301 Queen Blue Night service will operate between Neville Park and Long Branch.
During the morning peak period, three additional trips will operate eastbound from Long Branch, departing at 7:19 a.m., 7:29 a.m. and 7:39 a.m. These trips will provide transfer-free service through Humber Loop toward Neville Park.
