Mayor of Istanbul to Deliver SmartRail Eurasia Welcome Address
Kadir Topbaş, the mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, is confirmed as delivering the welcome address at SmartRail & Metro Eurasia and will officially open this landmark two-day event. A trained architect and strong supporter of public transport, Topbaş, will welcome delegates attending the event from across the region and will explore plans for the development of the city’s growing transport networks.
With rail and metro in Eurasia undergoing a rapid period of modernization, signalling, telecommunications, rolling stock and IT technology are all the subject of significant investment. Turkey alone will be allocating $46 billion allocated to rail and metro investment by 2023. And in response to this growth, SmartRail Euarasia will bring together the leading organisations and individuals shaping the rapid development of public transport in the region.
