Nashville MTA: All Snow Routes Resume on Monday

Nashville MTA is planning to resume operating on snow route detours Monday morning beginning with the first departures.

Nashville MTA is planning to resume operating on snow route detours Monday morning beginning with the first departures. To find out how a specific route may be affected, passengers can view brochures detailing the snow route detours online, pick up brochures on the buses, at Music City Central, or in display racks in the downtown area.

MTA has been working closely with Metro Public Works and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) so that problem areas are cleared and our 40-foot buses are able to turn around safely for rush hour on Monday.

Nashville MTA buses are operating on modified snow route detours only on five major corridors until 9:15 p.m. Sunday.

The modified snow routes operating tonight include the following routes:

3 West End/White Bridge
10 Charlotte (no service past White Bridge)
12 Nolensville Pike (no service past Harding)
15 Murfreesboro Pike
26 Gallatin Pike

MTA operations supervisors will evaluate roadway conditions and decide later Monday as to whether buses will remain on snow route detours or return to regular service.

RTA express bus service contracted through Gray Line will operate on Monday. This includes RTA bus routes 87X, 88X, 89X, 91X, 92X, 94X and 95X.

The Music City Star and Route 93 Music City Star West End Shuttle will operate as scheduled.

There may be some delays due to the icy roads. Safety is the top concern of both agencies, and the drivers are proceeding cautiously. Customers should watch for media alerts on local television stations, follow MTA on twitter @Nashville_MTA and the RTA on twitter @MiddleTN_RTA, or check out one of the available real-time tools featuring information from our Music City Transit Tracker system.  Up-to-date information is also being posted on the nashvillemta.org and rtarelaxandride.com websites.

In addition, passengers can check the electronic signs at Music City Central. Customers also may call MTA Customer Care at (615) 862-5950 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sundays.
