Applications for the International Transport Forum 2016 Awards close on Wednesday, Feb. 10. Transport operators, manufacturers and researchers are encouraged to submit their online application by Wednesday midnight (Paris time).
The ITF Awards honor exceptional achievements in transport-related areas. Winners will be presented with the Award in the presence of transport ministers from around the world at their Annual Summit on 18-20 May in Leipzig, Germany. The prizes are awarded in three categories.
- Transport Achievement Award: Recognizes a demonstrated achievement of excellence in transport provision. The Award is open to any organization (governmental and non-governmental), business or individual from ITF member and observer countries.
- Promising Transport Innovation Award: Recognizes an innovation that has the potential to significantly improve the quality, performance, user experience, accessibility, sustainability or intermodality of the transport offer for the movement of people and/or goods across one or more of the transport modes or through the reduction or elimination of travel. This award is open to any organisation, business or individual from ITF member and observer countries. The Promising Innovation Award is supported by SMART.
- Young Researcher of the Year Award: Carrying a prize of EUR 5 000, this award highlights the importance of transport research for sound transport policy formulation and implementation. It is open to researchers of up to 35 years of age who have undertaken their research in an institution, university or consultancy firm located in a member country of the International Transport Forum.
