Bombardier Appoints Germar Wacker as New Chairman of the Management Board

The Supervisory Board of Bombardier Transportation GmbH has appointed Germar Wacker as the new chairman of the Management Board. Wacker has also taken on the role of Head of Mainline and Metros for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

The Supervisory Board of Bombardier Transportation GmbH has appointed Germar Wacker as the new chairman of the Management Board. Wacker has also taken on the role of Head of Mainline and Metros for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Wolfgang Tölsner, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bombardier Transportation GmbH, explained, "With Germar Wacker, we have found a competent and experienced leader. He is a results oriented person with a proven ability to find clear solutions to new challenges."

After studying business administration in Germany and the USA, Wacker began his career in the automotive industry. In 2000, he joined Adtranz, which is now part of Bombardier Transportation. In recent years, among other responsibilities, he served as the head of Bombardier's Vienna production site, as president of the light rail division and as head of the propulsion and controls division. He was appointed Head of Mainline and Metros (CEE) in April 2016.
