Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) announced that it will be grinding sidewalks around the parking areas at Millbrae Station for two weekends: August 13-14 & 20-21, 2016 between 7am and 5pm. There is a possibility that the work may need to continue into a third weekend.

The machines doing the grinding are approximately the size of a shopping cart and can be moved out of the way if riders need access to a section of the sidewalk that is being worked on. This is important work to improve access and safety by removing tripping hazards.

There may be dust generated by the work and some noise made by the machines, however BART explained that they use a vacuum system and have some sound dampening to control these issues.

On Thursday and Friday, August 25-26 between 6am and 3pm, we will be boring holes in the parking lot in various areas to test the soil conditions for future construction projects. There is a chance the work may need to continue on Monday, August 29. Notice will be posted 72 hours in advance in the parking spots that will be affected by the work. Any cars left in the posted locations may be towed.
