Alstom participated as a speaker at the International Conference and 22nd Intermediate Meeting of Technical Committees of ALAMYS (Latin American Metro and Subway Association), which central theme is to discuss the technologies that will improve intermodal urban rail transport. This year, the event takes place from May 28 to June 1 in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Simultaneously, ALAMYS holds meetings with several thematic approaches, such as the interest of the authorities, modernization of the transport systems and specialized suppliers in Latin America.
Alstom participated with the conference: "Technologies for the Efficient Management of the Metro in Urban Transport Networks" presented by Omar Moya, one of Alstom's railway signalling expert, who explained the Integral Management of Public Transport Networks.
During this edition, Alstom presented four solutions that will revolutionize urban mobility:
Optimet OrbanMap, an intelligent metro network map that provides real-time dynamic information, designed for collective use and located in metro stations. This tool allows passengers to look at the metro network at a glance, its activity, the trains, the position, the travel times, the service interruptions and the level of comfort aboard the trains.
In order to solve the problem of congestion and unequally distributed passengers on metro platforms, Alstom will present Optimet real-time train occupancy, a solution that shows the level of occupancy per car through a strip of LED color (Red, orange or green) above the doors extending along the platform, and relays this information to station passageways and / or elevators. Therefore, before the train arrives, travelers will know where to stand on the platform, in order to board the train in less crowded areas.
Another tool is Mastria, a multimodal monitoring solution that, through predictive and automated analysis of data, is able to generate fast and reliable reports. The benefits of Mastria go beyond traffic optimization and the minimization of travel time, as it allows an increase in transport capacity and reduces the energy required to operate the mobility system.
Finally, Alstom introduced a high-tech tool focused on driving assistance known as Automatic Train Operation (ATO), which increases capacity and quality of service, ensuring punctuality, precision in stopping and energy savings through smoother driving. Alstom has equipped over 50 lines with the ATO tool in cities such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Panama, and are currently equipping 40 additional lines around the world
