MASATS announced it will present a worldwide two new developments this year: the Gap Filler for platforms, and the ThyraLink communication system.
To avoid the distance between train and platform, Masats has developed the all-new Gap-Filler model, an automatically extending running board that is installed in a station’s fixed infrastructure for safe and comfortable passenger access, especially people with reduced mobility.
The main characteristics of this equipment are speed, lightness and extensive coverage. The device was designed to cover considerable gaps between a train and platform with a base that extends up to 400 millimeters to also cover a large part of the platform with the immense width of up to 3 meters long.
This all-new product is possible with the innovative use of very light yet robust materials and the inclusion of motor drive technologies for full extension or retraction in less than a second. It is a new family of running boards that Masats has designed for its platform accessibility systems which can be integrated and interact with Masats platform door systems.
Masats will also present a communication system between passenger train door systems and platform door closing systems called ThyraLink.
This patent-pending communication system allows the implementation of an on-request immediate, delay-free open functionality for train access doors using open buttons. Plus, with ThyraLink, it’s possible to determine the operational status of doors before a train arrives at a station to give passengers on the train and on the platform advance notice of any access doors that are out of service.
The system is based on the use of wireless nodes installed inside the door mechanisms that are transparent to the door control units so they can be installed on most passenger train door and platform door mechanisms available on the market.
Masats will also exhibit in the stand 225 in Hall 3.1 in Innotrans its innovative Platform Screen Door system, a barrier system in modular concept, and also the latest generation of an on-board Sliding Plug door.
