The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration will begin work on the redevelopment of the MARC Camden Station.

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration will begin work on the redevelopment of the MARC Camden Station. As a result of the construction, the Camden Light RailLink station will be closed beginning Friday, October 5. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of March 2019. The new station design will complement the historic and iconic Camden Yards Sports Complex and will include an expanded waiting area, restrooms, new ticket vending machines, an MDOT MTA Police Force substation as well as new service and informational displays.

“We’re committed to bringing a much-improved transit experience to our riders when the new Camden Station is completed,” said MDOT MTA Administrator Kevin Quinn. “The new facility underscores our commitment to providing safe, efficient and reliable transit with world-class customer service.”

During construction, Light RailLink trains will bypass the closed Camden Light RailLink Station. MDOT MTA encourages customers who utilize the Camden Light RailLink station to use the nearby Convention Center station. Additionally, while the Camden Station is closed, the Penn-Camden shuttle will run only between Penn Station and Mt. Royal Station. MARC Train service to the Camden Station will be unaffected.
