TTC hosting 2019 APTA Rail Conference and International Rail Rodeo in Toronto

The conference is North America’s largest and most comprehensive for the passenger rail industry.

The TTC is proud to welcome delegates and competitors from across North America and Japan as host of the 2019 APTA Rail Conference and International Rail Rodeo. The conference, North America’s largest and most comprehensive for the passenger rail industry, will run from June 23-26 and is sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).

This technical conference features sessions on operations, maintenance, technology, safety and security, planning, finance, capital projects, workforce and development for all rail modes – urban, commuter, high-speed and intercity. International rail colleagues will have the opportunity to share best practices, lessons learned and effective and timely solutions they have deployed in their home cities. Participants will also hear from Mayor John Tory, TTC Chair Jaye Robinson and CEO Rick Leary.

The International Rail Rodeo Competition, now in its 27th year, highlights the best rail operators and maintenance teams from across North America. Competitors have been selected from local and state competitions to compete in this weekend’s championship in Toronto.

The International Rail Rodeo will be held on Sat., Jun. 22 at the TTC’s Leslie Barns Streetcar Maintenance and Storage Facility located at 1165 Lake Shore Blvd. E. All conference sessions will be held Mon., Jun. 24, - Wed., Jun. 26 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel, 123 Queen St. W.
