Sun Metro’s El Paso Streetcar announced it will extend its El Paso Strong Ride campaign to the end of October.
The campaign, which began in early September, waives streetcar fares to encourage riders to donate to the El Paso Strong effort via streetcar fare boxes.
The El Paso Strong effort supports the development of a permanent memorial to honor the victims and survivors of the domestic terrorism attack on Aug. 3. The city of El Paso is teaming up with public and private organizations to develop a permanent memorial honoring the victims and survivors of the attack.
“We are pleased to extend the El Paso Strong Ride to offer our riders the opportunity to continue to help create a legacy of love by contributing to the development of the El Paso Strong Memorial. The extension of this streetcar programming demonstrates how the El Paso community remains united during this difficult time as our city continues to recover from the impact of Aug. 3,” said Jay Banasiak, Sun Metro director.
