MAC-IMPulse, LLC, an affiliate of MAC Products, Inc. of Kearny, New Jersey, has acquired the rail transit business assets of AFL Telecommunications (AFL) effective immediately.
The purchase includes all rail transit-based assets of AFL, encompassing the IMPulse product lines of overhead contact system and catenary hardware for all types of electrified transit systems used in streetcars, light rail, intercity and commuter rail, freight, heritage trolley and electric trolleybus.
The new company will continue operating in the existing Mt. Olive, N.C., facility and build on its strong reputation in the transit business. The acquisition will expand the breadth and depth of the rail products MAC designs and manufactures.
“MAC and AFL’s Rail Products Group share a strong commitment to quality manufactured products and service to our customer base,” said Eddie Russnow, president of MAC Products, Inc. “Adding this product portfolio and the 18 staff joining our company will strengthen MAC’s position in the Electrified Mass Transit market.”
MAC Products is a perfect match for AFL’s rail business and this new combination is exciting news for the transit industry,” commented Eric Borowicz, general manager of AFL’s accessories division.
Terms of the acquisition were not announced.
