First State Manufacturing Inc. (FSM) officially opened the doors of its new warehouse and distribution center on October 18th, 2016 with a grand opening and ribbon cutting which was attended by Senator Tom Carper, DEDO Secretary Bernice Whaley and Milford Mayor, Bryan Shupe among many others.
“This facility will not only allow us to serve our national customers, but our international contracts,” said Sher Valenzuela, vice president of First State Manufacturing. “We are looking forward to being able to move towards maintaining a small inventory of finished goods especially for our Turnova safety sleeve line and our F² Seating products that we are planning to manufacture here in Milford, Delaware.”
“We are blessed to have Senator Carper join us today,” continued Valenzuela. “Fifteen years ago, as an enterprising entrepreneurial business, we contacted then Governor Carper and asked for assistance in reaching out to Amtrak. Our phone rang within seconds of our outreach. This facility is the culmination of what that call began for us as Delaware manufacturers of sewn goods and upholstery.”
