Efacec, in Consortium with the Austrian company Rhomberg, won the tender for the expansion of the Copenhagen Metro in Denmark. With this business, the Portuguese company reinforces its presence in the transport sector in the northern European market. This project is planned to be completed by 2023.
This bid, intended for the construction of the track and electrification of an extension of the lines, will allow a 4.6 km dual line extension, taking the metro from Copenhagen to Sydhaven community, adding another five stations to the network.
Efacec will be responsible for two traction substations, including in each of them energy support to the adjacent substations; three power substations for powering other stations; a sixth substation to support a ventilation well; the installation of a ring of 10 KV along the tunnel and the SCADA system.
In addition to this project in Copenhagen, Efacec had been involved in the construction of several other transportation systems, namely Porto (Portugal), Dublin (Ireland), Bergen (Norway) and Odense (Denmark) Light Rail systems. The company has been strongly focused on the European market and has been selected to collaborate with the most demanding costumers.
